🏆 What does it take to become a SABBS Approved Semen Donor?

A Boerboel must meet all of the following minimum requirements:

✔️ Owner must be a current SABBS member.

✔️ The male must be SABBS registered.

✔️ The male must be successfully appraised and achieve the required minimum appraisal score.

✔️ Certified hip status: • SABBS: 0:0 to 1:1, or • FCI: A1 to C2

✔️ Certified elbow status: • Maximum 1:1

✔️ A SABBS Senior Appraiser must confirm that the dog has no more than one deviation from the ideal score of 5 on the eyelids.

✔️ The dog must be microchipped and have an approved DNA profile.

❌ Dogs on the SABBS PET Register do not qualify as semen donors.

🌍 Exporting a Boerboel?

Before a dog can be exported, it must:

✅ Be owned by a SABBS member. ✅ Be microchipped. ✅ Have a Birth or Registration Certificate. ✅ Have a DNA profile if older than 8 months. ✅ Be appraised if 18 months or older. ✅ Not be on the PET Register. ✅ Obtain an official SABBS Export Permit. ✅ Be accompanied by a State Veterinarian Health Certificate (valid for five days).

📋 Exporting Semen?

Complete the Application to Export/Import: Animals/Embryos/Ova/Semen and submit it together with:

• Exporter and purchaser details • Dog registration details • Supporting documentation • Applicable Registrar's fee

📌 Please ensure all requirements are met before making export arrangements.

Only imported dogs, and dogs resulting from imported semen, that comply with the SABBS Constitution and Bylaws will qualify for SABBS registration.
